The Photon Doppler Velocimeter (PDV) is based on the optical Doppler effect, using optical fibers to transmit optical signals and utilizing optical interference mixing technology to obtain velocity information of objects. The entire system adopts all fiber connection, which not only improves the stability and reduces the volume of the system, but also, due to the use of high-performance single-mode fiber, the response time of the system is no longer limited by fiber dispersion, and speed measurement with a time resolution of 50 ps can be achieved. The structural composition of the interferometer host has been verified and optimized through high-speed experiments, achieving a signal-to-noise ratio of * and effectively reducing speed measurement errors.
